Proposals before Community Council for village enhancing

BALLINGARRY COMMUNITY COUNCIL

Tipperary South Riding County Council have planning approval to provide two houses at the derelict corner on the village cross-roads. This development on such an acute turn we believe flies in the face of reality, the safety of anyone using the road through Ballingarry and the pedestrians attempting to cross an ever increasingly busy road, was not given due consideration by the planners.
we do not agree with these proposals.

The Ballingarry Community Council suggest this corner is ideal for a Rememberance site to all the people who have worked in the Coalmines for the past 500 years,
-as an acknowledgment of the contribution that Slieveardagh made to the social and economic welfare of our country.
-To the multitudes that have emigrated for centuries all over the world from Slieveardagh, a few of whose contributions to their adopted countries are recorded in this site .
-and finally, as a very suitable location for a monument to the people and the Young Ireland movement of 1848.)

Where ever you are in the world and you have Slieveardagh connections
we would welcome fair comment on this development by.
