The Friends of Ballingarry GAA Club are a group of volunteers who come together each year to raise funds for the development of the new pitch in Ballingarry Village.
The major work has been done and the new dressing rooms have been completed, but a large debt of over 120,000.00 euro remains and is inhibiting the further development of providing tennis, basketball court, a covered stand, scoreboard, etc.
We are once again organising a GOLF CLASSIC to help reduce this debt.
It is being held in CALLAN GOLF CLUB on April 30th and May 1st.
It incorporates the Co.Tipperary Inter GAA Club Golf Championship for the "BABS KEATING TROPHY" current holders - Gortnahoe/Glengoole Club.
This is a major event and 64 Clubs from all over Co. Tipperary took part last year with another 24 teams taking part in the Classic
First prize is a week-end for four people in the FAITHLEG GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB, WATERFORD. (kindly sponsored by FBD Insurance Co.)
See hotel review in Irish Independent, April 3rd 2004

The Babs Keating Trophy
The Friends of Ballingarry GAA Club held their Annual Golf Classic this year on the Bank Holiday weekend of Friday afternoon and all day Saturday May 2nd & 3rd 2003, in the usual venue of Callan Golf Club.
Once again it was an outstanding success both socially and financially. and nearly 16,000.00 euro was raised for the new GAA pitch development.
Over the years the event was blessed with excellent weather and Friday afternoon was lovely. Saturday, however was a very bad day with constant rain and it looked as if it would be a disaster. However we did not count on the excellent goodwill we have generated over the years and only one of the teams entered failed to turn up. The committee wish to thank very sincerely all the teams that took part but have a special thank you for the teams who turned out on that wet Saturday.
Your efforts are very much appreciated.
The Classic included the Inter GAA Cub Golf Championship of Co Tipperary and teams came from all corners of Tipperary for the Championship.
We also had great support from our neighbours in Kilkenny and we particularly thank them.
As usual the Calls of the classic is mainly dependant on our sponsors and this year was no exception
We SINCERELY thank all of our sponsors and we ask you the general public to give them your support.
