Larry Wall-Fitzpatrick
Celebrations 2011
This year the Larry Wall Celebrations will take
place in The Commons village on Sunday
June 12th commencing at 2pm. The FitzpatrickŐs and their kinfolk
welcome all who wish to join them in The Commons to come along and join in the
festivities. Those who play music,
dance a step or sing a song, donŐt forget your instrument. The venue is WebsterŐs Lounge, The Commons and it is planned to
have a dance platform also.

It is 26 years since Larry Wall-Fitzpatrick was
first honoured when a Memorial in his honour was unveiled in The Commons
village on Sunday May 12th 1985 and a musical Commemoration was held
in his beloved native village.
Since that very special event, LarryŐs memory has been kept alive, not
alone by his musical friends and family, but by his legendary prowess as a fine
traditional musician, which has been recognised far and wide in journals such
as the Comhaltas world-wide magazine, the county newspaper The Tipperary Star and the ever popular Ballingarry Parish Journal.
His last resting place at the high ground in Ballingarry Cemetery is a
place of pilgrimage for the many who revered his music and integrity. This
Commemoration is dedicated not only to Larry but to all the great musicians of
the Slieveardagh area, especially those who knew and played with him throughout
his lifetime.
This year there will be family members present,
including some who have never seen Ireland present in The Commons, some are
travelling from Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, as well as from all over
Ireland. To all who make the effort to be part of this musical event, the
family and local Committee express their thanks and welcome you all to The
Commons. This promises to be a
memorable occasion for all concerned.
All are
welcome.
